Subject syllabus

1. Physiology of blood and Immune system I: blood plasma, blood plasma proteins, blood buffer system, creation of blood elements, red blood cells, hemostasis,)
2. Physiology of blood and Immune system II (blood groups, Rh system, leukocytes, cellular and humoral immunity, innate and acquired immunity)
3. Heart physiology (functional anatomy of the heart, origination and spreading of impulses in the heart, heart activity regulation, ejection fraction, cardiac electrical activity)
4. Physiology of breathing (lung ventilation, primary indicators of lung ventilation, oxygen transportation, breath control)
5. Physiology of digestion and absorption (structure and function of the gastrointestinal tract, regulation of the gastrointestinal tract's performance, digestion)
6. Metabolism (metabolism of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism, heat of combustion, the energy equivalent, basal metabolism, work metabolism, indirect calorimetry, table method of estimated energy expenditure
7. Muscle physiology (types of muscle tissue, structure of skeletal muscle, energy acquired for muscle contraction, muscle fibre types, motion control, smooth muscle, cardiac muscle)
8. Excretory system physiology(functional structure of the kidneys, glomerular filtration, tubular system, regulation of kidneys function)
9. Reaction of an organism on hot and cold load: chemic and physical thermoregulation, heat equation, heat load markers, water balance, assessment of hot and cold load
10. Neurohumoral regulation (structure and function of nervous system, sex hormones, adrenal gland cortex hormones, thyroid, catecholamines, stress, pancreatic hormones, endocrine function of kidneys, liver and heart, hormones of a diffuse endocrine system)
11. Sensory organ physiology (sight, hearing, smell, taste, skin receptors)
12. Reaction of an organism on staying in high-and reduced barometric pressure (mountain sickness, diease of divers and cofferdams) Bilogical rhythms circadian rhythm - its impact on work performance and accidents.
