Introduction to Environment Security

The course is focused on the interaction between the environment and human with respect to the issues of environmental protection and potential security threats. Despite the fact that environmental security does not currently have a fixed definition, it shields a lot of current topics, discussed in the society. It is presented what environmental security deals with and its relationship to national security, the distribution of environmental threats and several of them analyzed in detail. The content of thematic areas in the course is chosen in order to present the issues to the students as a whole - the affected areas of the environment, environmental topics in strategic and legislative documents of a national or international character, implementing preventive or remedial steps, etc.
