Summary

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquire knowledge and skills in risk analysis with special attention to technological processes and natural hazards. Risks as a phenomenon and the general problem of their analysis. The basic categories are: risk analysis as a basic decision-making step for risk management. Terminology of risk analysis, ambiguity of the current state of terminology in various areas of knowledge and risk management. Deterministic and probabilistic approach to risk analysis. Risk analysis - target setting, hazard identification and evaluation, scenario creation, modeling of event impacts, uncertainty determination. Risk analysis tools according to ISO 31 010. Overview and application of Dow F + EI, Dow CEI, FTA, ETA, HAZOP, CPQRA, and MOSAR methods. The principle of barriers and their use. Chronic Risk Analysis, ERA.
The subject is supplemented by case studies focused on cases close to the specific themes of the dissertation.
