Labour market

Summary

The course introduces students to the functioning of the labour market and its key mechanisms. It focuses on explaining the relationship between labour supply and demand, the formation of wage equilibrium, and the factors influencing it. Students will gain knowledge of human capital, educational mismatch, and the importance of soft skills for employability. The course also addresses information asymmetry in the labour market, determinants of wage differentials, and the causes and forms of unemployment. Furthermore, it presents the instruments and effects of employment policy and discusses entrepreneurship as an alternative opportunity for labour market participation.
