Seminar on Economics of Poverty

Summary

Course is focused on poverty, deprivation, income inequality and social exclusion and their solution. Introduced and applied are selected concepts of poverty and social exclusion (in its dimensions). Topics are introduced in the context of economic theory. Topics are discussed in developed as well as developing countries. Poverty is emphasized in the context of actual challenges – migration or sustainable development. Selected concepts of poverty and social exclusion are used for the solution of practical cases with the use of international statistical databases.
