Subject syllabus

1. The concept of international economic integration. Basic integration methods and selected forms of realization of international economic integration.
2. Determining the degrees of economic integration. The state of play of the integration process on the European continent, the presidency of the EU Council.
3. Models (paradigms) of the European integration process, key stages of the development of the integration process in Western Europe after 1945 to the present.
4. The genesis of the European Union, the integration concept. European Union law - basic characteristics, development, current status.
5. Institutions and bodies of the European Union - structure, function of decision-making processes.
6. The general budget of the European Union - annual budgets, multiannual financial framework. The project and implementation of the EU single market (JVT).
7. The internal market of the European Union - the free movement of goods, services, capital and labor. Basic principles of protection of competition in the internal market.
8. Characteristics and current developments of the key common economic policies of the European Union.
9. Basic principles of economic and social cohesion in the EU, shared and complementary competences of the EU in selected areas of economic policies.
10. The emergence, development and current status of Economic and Monetary Union (EMU). Organizational and capital provision of economic and monetary union, monetary policy of the European Central Bank.
11. Cooperation in the Union's foreign and security policy. Cooperation in the field of justice and home affairs.
12. Political, economic and institutional issues related to the enlargement process of the European Union. Candidate countries, potential candidate countries.
13. The Czech Republic as a Member State of the European Union. Accession process, current situation, positive and negative aspects of our membership in the Union.
14. Possible scenarios of the future development of integration in the EU. Problems of the EU's transition to political integration.
