Subject syllabus

1. Regions and their classification - regionalism and regional integration, regional theory, classification of regions in the European Union and the Czech Republic, Euroregions.
2. Regional disparities - basic concepts, systemic bases of regional disparities, basic indicators of the level of states and regions, indicators of growth strategies in the EU.
3. Regional disparities and their measurement - methods of measuring regional disparities, regional disparities in the European Union
and the Czech Republic
4. Theory of regional development and regional policy - regional development and factors in regional development, modern theories of regional development and contemporary approaches to regional policy, types and instruments of modern regional policy.
5. Regional policy of selected European countries (I) - Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany.
6. Regional policy of selected European countries (II) - Finland, Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Portugal.
7. Development of regional policy in Europe - the main milestones in the development of regional policy in the European Union.
8. Legislative and institutional framework of EU regional policy - legislative framework of EU regional policy, governance of regional policy at the EU level.
9. EU regional policy instruments - European funds, special support instruments, financial instruments, Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance.
10. EU regional policy in the programming period 2021-2027 - regional policy architecture, legislative framework, programming documents, financial framework.
11. Regional policy in the Czech Republic - background and shaping of regional policy in the Czech Republic, legislative framework, support for regional development in the Czech Republic, coordination of EU economic and social cohesion in the Czech Republic.
12. EU regional policy in the Czech Republic (I) - EU funds for the Czech Republic 2004-2006, 2007-2013 and 2014-2020.
13. EU Regional Policy in the Czech Republic (II) - EU funds for the Czech Republic in the programming period 2021-2027.
14. The future of EU regional policy after 2027 - basic documents on the focus of regional policy after 2027, preparation of EU regional policy 2027+.
