EU Cohesion Policy

Summary

The aim of the course is to introduce students the major determinants and principles of EU cohesion policy, programming process and development of programming documents for EU Structural funds and operational framework of structural aid in economic development of the regions in the European Union. Main focus will be laid on the system of programming documents for regional development management, types of the EU Structural Funds interventions and methodology of programming logics. The course also deals with specific case study of programming documents in the Czech Republic during programming period 2007 – 2013. Systems of programming documents in selected EU countries are presented in seminars. Students will be also acquainted with the management of the programmes and implementation of actions. The end of the course is fulfilling with reformed architecture of EU cohesion policy in temporary programming period 2007 – 2013. The structure of programming documents in the Czech Republic in programming period 2007 – 2013 is surveyed.
