Subject syllabus

1. Acquainting students with the main features of postindustrial society which are relevant from the perspective of media study.
2. Critical reflection on the role of media in the society.
3. Particularities of the structure, media acting and impact in a so-called society of networks or in the society with postmodern culture.
4. New forms of communication in the society.
5. Relation of media and policy, media and consumption, media and education in the age of a so-called knowledge society
6. Analysis of classical critical texts especially from the area of American and French sociology of media.
