After completing the course, the student will achieve the following learning outcomes:
Knowledge: The student will explain basic logistics concepts, describe the main principles and methods of logistics, distinguish issues in supply, production, and distribution logistics, describe procedures for managing logistics costs and inventory, and justify the choice of supplier, type of warehouse, mode of transport, and material code.
Skills: The student will apply theoretical logistics knowledge to specific cases, calculate order levels, determine the optimal production batch size, establish continuous production time, propose suitable locations for logistics facilities, create a Pareto analysis and a production plan using the MRP method, and evaluate the appropriate type of transport and warehouse for specific situations.
General Competences: The student will independently choose an appropriate work procedure, assess the quality and limitations of results, communicate professionally and defend chosen solutions, work collaboratively in a team, and consider relevant legal, safety, and professional requirements in problem solving.
