Law for Economists

Summary

The course serves to acquire a basic orientation in law with a focus on the areas most relevant to the economic professions. Students will understand basic legal concepts and institutes, learn to use legal terminology, understand the system of the Czech legal system and its individual branches. They will be able to work with relevant sources of law and search in legal information systems. The student will gain an elementary overview of all basic areas of law; closer attention is focused on commercial law, which is the most important for economic disciplines (in particular, emphasis is placed on corporate law and commercial contracts).
