Economic Policy

Cíle předmětu

The course mainly focuses on practical economic policy and its implementation in the Czech Republic and the European Union according to contemporary concepts. The course builds on the Economic Policy B and C of the master's degree studies and primarily synthesizes knowledge from the theoretical courses of the doctoral studies in the field of Economics, especially complementing the Theory of Economic Policy, Monetary Theory and the Theory of Antitrust Regulation.

The course substantially deals with both the political and legal perspective of the practical economic policy (the fundamentals of economic and political decision making in the context of the time inconsistency theory, rational expectations theory, government failure and the influence of interest groups), followed by an analysis of individual model concepts, where practical economic policy in individual countries was implemented.
