Within the framework of the subject “Actions on Building Structures”, the students will learn about the load calculation procedures and their subsequent introduction into the global analysis of the structure. Detailed information, including practical examples, is given for typical actions on building structures, i.e. permanent actions, imposed loads for buildings, wind loads and snow loads. Acquired knowledge and skills are a prerequisite for the students to be able to design and assess the load-bearing building structures.
Learning outcomes:
-explain the basic principles of design according to limit states,
-characterize permanent and service loads, wind and snow loads
-distinguish between characteristic and design load values according to applicable standards,
-compile load combinations,
-use the results of the analysis as a basis for the design and assessment of load-bearing structures.
