In the subject "Steel and Timber Structures I", students are introduced to the specifics of both structural materials, their application in building load bearing systems and and the design and assessment of elements and joints of steel and timber structures.
Learning outcomes:
- the student can explain the basic properties of steel and timber as structural materials and understands their application in building load bearing systems,
- is familiar with the design and assessment of structural elements in relation to the relevant normative regulations,
- can design and assess the basic elements of steel structures,
- can design and assess the basic elements of timber structures,
- can design and assess the basic joints of steel and timber structures.
