Steel and timber structures II

Summary

In the course "Steel and Timber Structures II", students will learn about the specifics of the design and assessment of steel and timber structures. Typical buildings and structural units with a steel or timber supporting structure are introduced.

Learning outcomes:
-the student applies general principles of designing and assessing steel and timber structures in accordance with European standards,
-designs and assesses load-bearing steel structures of hall buildings,
-designs and assesses load-bearing steel and steel-concrete structures of high-rise buildings,
-design and assess typical load-bearing timber structures and structural systems,
-take into account degradation processes and the influence of the environment on the behavior and service life of timber structures.
