Improvement of Rocks and Soils

Summary

The course provides the fundamentals of rock and soil improvement methods in
common use of geotechnical engineering works. The lectures cover the techniques
of ground treatment, improvement and reinforcement listed below: compaction,
consolidation, dewatering, physiochemical stabilization, cementation, grouting,
jet grouting, freezing, replacing, mixing, reinforcement. Each technique is
dealt in a way referring principle, state of the art and history cases.
