Subject syllabus

Syllabus of lecture:

1. Ceiling constructions. Requirements for the ceiling constructions - static, thermal technical, acoustic, firefighting. Division of ceilings.
2. Ceiling constructions. Wooden ceilings: Division. Butt ceiling. Joist ceilings with visible beams - simple joist ceiling, simple joist ceiling with fill, coffered ceiling, ceiling with straw ropes, modern ceiling constructions with visible beams.
3. Ceiling constructions. Wooden ceilings: Joist ceilings with flush soffit - joist ceiling with mortared soffit and fill, joist ceiling with embedded decking, joist ceiling with little beams supporting the soffit, modern ceiling constructions with flush soffit.
4. Ceiling constructions. Wooden ceilings: Plank ceilings. Ceilings from glued, nailed, lattice, reinforced and pretension beams.
5. Ceiling constructions. Reinforced concrete ceilings. Division. Monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings - beamless, joist, hollow-block, glass-concrete.
6. Ceiling constructions. Reinforced concrete ceilings. Precast reinforced concrete ceilings - from reinforced concrete beams, from reinforced concrete panels, mushroom.
7. Ceiling constructions. Precast ceilings from panels from prestressed concrete. Precast-monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings.
8. Ceiling constructions. Ceramic ceilings. Steel and steel-concrete ceilings.
9. Ceiling constructions. Vaults. Types of vaulted arcs. Types of vaults. Equations of equilibrium on vaults. Dangerous joints in vaults.
10. Overhanging constructions - balconies, loggie, oriels, galleries, cornices, awnings, sun blinds.
11. Constructions connecting the floors: Staircases - nomenclature, division of staircases, staircase design. Requirements for the staircase (Decree No. 268/2009 Coll.). Legislation on staircases (ČSN 73 4130 (2010)).
12. Constructions connecting the floors: Ramps, ladders, steps and elevators.
13. Floors: Division of floors. Requirements for floors. Solid and folded floors. Wooden floors. Cork floors.
14. Floors: Paving. Dabs and screed floor covers. Floor coatings.
15. Contraction joints: Principles of structural design of contraction joints.


Syllabus of seminar:

1. Requirements for the ceiling constructions (static, thermal technical, acoustic, firefighting) - Decree No. 268/2009 Coll. Legislation on static, thermal technical, acoustic, firefighting requirements.
2. Wooden ceilings: Butt ceiling, joist ceilings with visible beams - composition design, solution of details.
3. Wooden ceilings: Joist ceilings with flush soffit - composition design, solution of details.
4. Wooden ceilings: Plank ceilings, ceilings from glued, nailed, lattice, reinforced and pretension beams.
5. Reinforced concrete ceilings: Drawing of shape of monolithic reinforced concrete ceilings.
6. Reinforced concrete ceilings. Drawing of composition of precast reinforced concrete ceilings.
7. Solution of details in monolithic and precast reinforced concrete ceilings.
8. Ceramic ceilings. Drawing of shape of ceramic ceiling. Solution of details.
9. Steel and steel-concrete ceilings. Drawing of shape of steel ceiling. Solution of details in steel and steel-concrete ceilings.
10. Solution of details of overhanging constructions (balconies, loggie, oriels, galleries, cornices, awnings, sun blinds).
11. Requirements for the staircase (Decree No. 268/2009 Coll.). Legislation on staircases (ČSN 73 4130 (2010)). Design of staircase with straight flight and circular stair.
12. Calculation of dimensions of stairs and stair flight. Drawing of staircase.
13. Principles of floor composition design. Design of the ground floor composition and the floor composition on ceiling construction over the heated and unheated space.
14. Composition design of heavy and light floating floor.
15. Solution of details of contraction joints.
