Subject syllabus

1. Thermal technical issues of building envelopes. Principles for designing envelopes from the point of view of building thermal technology. Requirements ČSN 73 0540-2 (2011).
2. Building envelopes. Division. Requirements - aesthetic, thermal, acoustic, light, aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, fire safety.
3. Silicate-based facades.
4. Metal lightweight facades.
5. Lightweight wood-based facades.
6. Double transparent facades, green facades.
7. Roof construction - design criteria, roof layers, roof division.
8. Hot flat roofs - material and structural solutions, division, layers, design principles.
9. Cold flat roofs - material and structural solutions, division, layers, design principles.
10. Hot and cold pitched roofs - material and structural solutions, division, layers, design principles.
11. Vegetation, operational, biosolar roofs - material and structural solutions, division, layers, design principles.
12. Opening fillings - windows and doors: thermal and technical requirements for windows/doors, heat transfer coefficient, temperature factor of the inner surface, solar energy transmission factor (solar factor), air permeability.
13. Opening fillings - windows and doors: requirements for soundproofing, watertightness and resistance to wind load. Requirements for installation ČSN 74 6077 (2018). Connection joint solution. Doors. Gates.
