Anotace

Within the course “BIM in Building Construction”, students are introduced to the fundamental principles and tools used for creating building information models. They learn to work with different types of input data, particularly geometric information (shape, dimensions, and location) and descriptive alphanumeric (non-geometric) information such as parameters, attributes, and properties. Emphasis is placed on assigning this information to individual building elements and structural components. Students gain an understanding of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) concept, especially the system for defining levels of detail and information requirements for different project phases and various user groups. The acquired knowledge enables students to independently develop a building information model.

Learning Outcomes:
- the student explains the basic concepts and principles of Building Information Modeling (BIM),
- distinguish between geometric and alphanumeric information in a building information model,
- apply BIM principles in the creation of an information model for building construction,
- assign and manage information for building elements and structural components within a BIM model,
- create a basic building information model corresponding to a specified project phase.
