Sustainable building

Course aims

Sustainable building represents a progress of building industry towards the achievement of sustainable development of society in terms of ecology, social-economy and culture. This course deals especially with ecological and energy aspects of building and possibilities of environmental-friendly and recycled material use in building constructions.
After completing the course, students will be familiar with the principles of sustainable building and principle of multi-criteria assessment of buildings. Students will master the principles of barrier-free design of buildings. Students will understand the methodology of life cycle assessment. Finally, students will be able to design buildings using renewable and recycled building materials.
