Summary

Students will get acquainted with the roads sorting and with the categories types of roads and urban roads, with tracing principles (directional and height solutions) and with possibilities of width arrangement. The design principles of the ground solids and pavement structures and principles of drainage will be presented. Attention will also be paid to the use of security features and level intersections.

Learning outcomes:
- Define and characterize the distribution of roadways and categorical types of roads and local roads.
- Apply the principles of routing roadways in directional and elevation solutions.
- Design and arrange the basic width arrangement of roadways.
- Describe and explain the principles of design of the earth body, roadway structures and their drainage.
- Identify and assess the use of safety features and basic solutions for level crossings.
