Summary

Lectures and seminars are focused on fundamental questions of road designing, with emphasis on the design and construction of roads and pavement design, including material properties and building technology. Exercises are taught in a computer room using specialized software.

Learning outcomes:
- Define and describe the principles of road design and construction.
- Design road structures with regard to traffic loads and material properties.
- Characterize and select road construction materials and construction technologies.
- Apply computational and design procedures in road design.
- Use specialized software in solving design problems
