Subject syllabus

1. Introduction to mathematical software variables, and matrices, scripts.
2. Basics of algorithmization, a elementary algorithms.
3. Calculating function values, tabulation and graphical representation, determining the extrem of a function.
4. Solution of systems of linear equations by direct methods, Gauss and Gaussi-Jordan elimination method.
5. Solution of systems of linear equations using iterative methods, Jacobi method, Gauss-Seidel method, conjugatd gradientsd gradients.
6. Numerical integration of definite integral, rectangular, trapezoidal and Gaussian methods.
7. Energy methods in structural mechanics, Ritz method.
8. Basic principles of the finite element method, truss finite element derivation.
9. Solution of plane problem by finite element method.
10. Solution of thin plates by the finite element method.
11. Solution of spatial problems by the finite element method.
12. Isoparametric finite elements, their advantages and disadvantages.
13. Finite element modelling of structures on elastic substrate.
