Summary

Students will gain knowledge and skills for static analysis and preparation of numerical models of 1D, 2D and 3D structures by finite element method. Students will learn how to create computational models of structures based on real-life situations and how to evaluate the results obtained. Practical teaching is carried out in the computer laboratory. Specialized software is used for teaching. Students apply the acquired practical knowledge and skills in solving programs and term papers in construction subjects.

Learning outcomes:
- create a computational model in specialized software;
- comprehension of the links between structural engineering methodology and practical application;
- apply knowledge of loads on building structures, creation of load cases and combinations;
- analyse the real building structure and model creation according to boundary conditions.
