Summary

The course introduces students to basic knowledge about the properties and structure of the most commonly used construction materials. They will learn the laws of atomic and molecular structure and the construction of crystalline and amorphous substances. They will also learn about stress-strain behavior and selected degradation processes in materials. Students will encounter basic tests of the mechanical properties of individual materials and their evaluation, including an explanation of the use of individual materials in technical practice.
