Subject syllabus

1. Classification of transported materials. Mechanical properties of particulate matter. Classification of transport. Calculation of transport performance.
2. Basic equation of motion. Methods of transmission of traction forces.
3. Determination of traction forces in an infinite traction element - graphical - numerical method.
4. Traction elements - ropes, chains and conveyor belts. Construction. Construction and calculation of particulate matter containers. Container closures and feeders.
5. Belt conveyor, principle, division and main parts. Technological accessories of a belt conveyor.
6. Fundamentals of theory and calculation of a belt conveyor. Standard ČSN ISO 5048.
7. Bucket conveyor - construction, main parts, calculation.
8. Link, rake conveyor - construction, basics of calculation of chain conveyors.
9. Vibrating conveyor - diagram, possibilities of excitation of vibrations, calculation of basic parameters of a vibrating conveyor.
10. Screw conveyor – construction, classification, simplified calculation of screw conveyor parameters.
11. Gravity transport – chutes, chutes and gravity roller tracks.
12. Powered roller tracks – construction, drive methods, basic calculation – resistance to movement.
13. Elevators – classification, construction and main parts, calculation of rope safety factor and checking of friction capabilities.
