Subject syllabus

1. Basic requirements for VFR flight planning.
2. Maps for navigation, airport maps, aeronautical information manual - AIP.
3. Routes, airports, procedures.
4. Planning heights, speeds, courses, basic navigation calculations.
5. Fuel calculation, in-flight fuel monitoring.
6. Operational flight plan.
7. ICAO flight plan, use for VFR flights.
8. Weight and balance, limitation of maximum weight.
9. Calculations of mass and center of gravity, front and rear limits of center of gravity position.
10. Influence of aircraft weight and position of center of gravity on flight performance, possible dangers.
11. Take-off and climb performance, factors influencing take-off duration, use of flaps, calculations, flight manual.
12. Performances in horizontal flight. Range, endurance and factors influencing it, flight manual, descent, gliding.
13. Landing, required runway length, factors influencing landing distance, use of flaps, calculations, flight manual.
14. Discussions, practice calculations and consultations of previous content.
