Subject syllabus

1. Ways to avoid the effects of exceeding the critical Mach number.
2. Special features of supersonic flow, aerodynamic heating.
3. Calculation of the Mach number, calculations of aerodynamic heating, Mach cone angle.
4. Introduction to stability issues – static stability, dynamic stability.
5. Introduction to controllability, definitions and basic concepts.
6. Center of gravity and its calculation.
7. Introduction to operating limitations, overview of operating limitations.
8. Basic concepts of propeller blade theory.
9. Propeller construction methods and materials used.
10. Fixed-pitch propellers, variable-pitch propellers (on the ground, in flight), constant-speed propellers.
11. Propeller anti-icing.
12. Propeller maintenance, storage, and preservation.
13. Propeller torque.
14. Discussion and consultation on previous content.
