Summary

This course introduces students to the design, operating principles, and performance characteristics of aircraft piston engines. Emphasis is placed on basic engine types, their main structural components, engine systems, installation in the aircraft airframe, and the impact of operating conditions on engine performance. The course also includes an introduction to the issues of service life, operating cycles, and maintenance of aircraft piston engines.
