Subject syllabus

1. Origins and development of logistics, objectives and strategies of logistics.
2. Integrated logistics.
3. Logistics chain, active and passive elements of logistics, micrologistics and macrologistics, transport logistics in the context of material handling.
4. Internal and external transport and their specific features, automated and autonomous transport systems.
5. Information technology in logistics, movement of materials in space and time, digitalization of logistics processes, elements of Logistics 4.0, and the use of AI in logistics.
6. Definition of the material handling problem, design of material handling equipment – relationships between sources and consumers.
7. Methods for solving facility layout problems, facility design, simulation and digital modelling.
8. Warehousing, storage systems, automation and robotization of warehouse processes, and AI applications in warehousing.
9. Distribution logistics and its aspects.
10. General business logistics.
11. Logistics costs.
12. Logistics technologies, modern Logistics 4.0 technologies, IoT, AI, and autonomous systems.
13. Multi-criteria decision-making, application of optimization methods and AI for decision support.
