Transport Systems in Machinery Industry

Summary

Students will acquire knowledge of the role of Transport and handling systems
in machinery industry and the state of art technologies. Subject is focused
mainly on applications in machine shops, moulding shops, finishing plants,
forgeries, thermal treatment plants and during assemby. Furhermore it is
adressed to outer logistic connections and its continuity in intraworks
transport systems within the frame of contemporary theories of logistics.

1.Position and function of handling systems in contemporary types of machinery
plants. Company structures in free market economy, trends.
2.Transport – handling criterial functions. Logistics.
3.“Outer connections” – railway and road transport systems
4.Palleting and container handling, loading and unloading systems, capacity
determination
5.Inter-facility transport systems
6.Intraworks transport systems
7.Interstage and operation systems of material handling
8.Waste handling and treatment (legislation)
9.Storage systems, state of the art and trends (supply, sales and
manufacturing storage)
10.Selected interoperation and technological handling (overhead handling,
vertical transport, guiding tracks)
11.Handling systems of machine shops, moulding shops, forgeries, thermal
treatment plants, welding plants and during assembly
12.Transport and handling systems engineering. System methods. Legislation.
