Graduates of this course will be able to describe the basic principles of ecology, identify relevant EU initiatives and legislation, and explain the environmental impact assessment process. They will be able to analyze options for optimizing flight routes, climb and descent profiles, the Cost Index, and refueling in terms of their environmental and operational impacts. Graduates will be able to assess an airport’s environmental policy, the use of renewable resources, energy management, and waste management. They will be able to propose measures for the electrification of ground operations and apply basic mathematical tools in evaluating the development of electromobility. Graduates will be able to independently develop and defend a group project, formulate expert opinions, and take responsibility for proposed solutions in the field of sustainable air transport.
