The graduate will be able to describe the classification of rail vehicles and explain the design of their basic structural groups (wheelset, axle bearings, vertical suspension, wheelset guidance systems, frames and bogies). He will be able to calculate resistances from acceleration and changes in axle forces due to traction force and assess the design solution of the traction and impact device and brakes of rail vehicles. He will be able to describe the principle of drive of driving wheelsets and defend the solution of the assigned design problem.
