Summary
A graduate of the course will be able to identify and describe the fundamental sources of international, European and national civil aviation law, explain the roles and responsibilities of the principal aviation organisations, and characterise the legal requirements applicable to aircraft operations, aviation personnel, rules of the air, air traffic services, aerodromes, civil aviation security and the investigation of aircraft accidents. A graduate will be able to locate, interpret and apply the relevant legal and aviation regulations when addressing practical situations, assess whether an operational procedure complies with the applicable legal framework, and propose an appropriate solution. A graduate will be able to independently formulate and defend a professional opinion, assess the legal implications of a proposed course of action, take responsibility for professional decision-making, and continuously evaluate changes in aviation legislation.
