Subject syllabus

1. Air transport within the transport system and the national economy (economic significance of transport, direct and indirect economic impacts, employment, tourism, regional development, and connectivity).
2. The air transport market and its key characteristics (market structure, supply and demand, factors influencing demand, competition).
3. Civil aviation regulation (liberalization, competition, slots, airport charges, consumer protection, the role of ICAO, IATA, the EU, EASA, and other institutions).
4. Air carriers and their business models (network and low-cost carriers, charter and regional airlines, hub-and-spoke, point-to-point, alliances, code-sharing).
5. Air carrier operating cost structure (fixed and variable costs, fuel, crew, maintenance, airport and navigation charges, aircraft-related costs).
6. Revenues and pricing fundamentals in air transport (revenue structure, pricing, market segmentation, load factor, yield, ancillary revenues).
7. Aircraft fleet and acquisition (aircraft ownership and leasing, fleet renewal, capacity utilization, investment decision-making basics).
8. Passenger transport process (check-in, ground handling, baggage).
9. Cargo transport process (processing, handling, cargo, logistics chains).
10. Operational and economic indicators of air carriers (revenues, costs, profitability, RASK, CASK, yield, load factor). 11. Safety and operational risks in air transport (safety costs, incidents, delays, fundamentals of crisis management and insurance).
12. Environmental aspects of air transport (externalities, emission systems, environmental charges).
13. Digitalization and modern trends in air transport (automation, artificial intelligence, predictive maintenance, new forms of mobility and their impact on operations and economics).
