Subject syllabus

1. Basic terminology and terms, Description of storage systems load.
2. Load classification of storage systems, Geometry of storage systems.
3. Design situations for solids, for different geometrical arrangements of storage systems, for special shapes of storage systems and for liquids stored in a storage system.
4. Mechanical - physical properties of stored materials.
5. Loading of vertical walls during filling and emptying - slender, low, medium slender and closed storage systems.
6. Loads when emptying storage systems with great eccentricity.
7. Storage systems containing aerated stored material, Loading of hoppers containing aerated stored material.
8. Pressures caused by lowering the ambient temperature.
9. Loading of hoppers - steep and shallow, Loading of hoppers during filling and emptying.
10. Bottom loading of storage systems - flat bottoms of lean, low and medium lean storage systems.
11. Liquid loading of storage systems.
12. Loads caused by dust explosions.
13. Wind load.
14. Snow load.
