Subject syllabus

1. Regulatory Framework of SES, European ATM Master Plan, and EASA Airspace Organization (SES, EU legislation, SESAR, ICAO, ECAC, EASA, Eurocontrol, ATM Master Plan).
2. SESAR (Single European Sky ATM Research) (objectives, architecture, key projects, and operational implementation of SESAR solutions).
3. Fundamentals of Modern Airline Flight Planning and Flight Planning Systems (strategic and operational flight planning, FMS, Lido, Jeppesen, Sabre, route, fuel and cost optimization, automation).
4. Infrastructure and Services (ADS-B, WAM, LPV, GBAS, GNSS applications in civil aviation).
5. IFPS and Network Manager (NM) Operations (flight plan processing, FPL validation, ATFM, re-routing, NOP and NM services).
6. Trajectory Based Operations (TBO) and the 4D Trajectory Concept (trajectory management, i4D, interoperable FMS, predictive operations).
7. ATFM and Capacity Management (ATFCM concepts, flow management, CTOT, STAM, NMOC, NOP, predictive capacity management).
8. SWIM – System Wide Information Management (architecture, services, AIXM/FIXM/WXXM standards, interoperability).
9. Airport Planning and Operations Management (slot management, airport capacity, A-CDM, AOP, operational coordination, KPIs).
10. Systems for Performance Enhancement at Airports and TMAs (ADS-B, AMAN, CCO/CDO, P-RNAV, ILS/GLS/LPV, GBAS, Remote TWR, Virtual APP/ACC).
11. Environmental Aspects of Flight Planning (CORSIA, ETS, trajectory optimization, emission reduction, sustainable aviation).
12. Digital Transformation of ATM and AI in Flight Planning (Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Big Data, SWIM, ADS-B, meteorological data).
13. Future Challenges and Research Directions in Flight Planning (U-space, drone and eVTOL integration, Digital Twin, cybersecurity).
