Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to explain the principles of modern Air Traffic Management (ATM) together with the regulatory framework of the Single European Sky (SES) initiative and the SESAR programme. They will be able to analyse flight planning processes, airspace and airport capacity management, the principles of Trajectory Based Operations (TBO), Air Traffic Flow and Capacity Management (ATFCM), and System Wide Information Management (SWIM), as well as explain the application of modern navigation, information and communication technologies in civil aviation. Furthermore, students will be able to evaluate airport planning and operational coordination, assess the environmental aspects of air transport, including trajectory optimisation and emissions reduction, and critically evaluate the benefits of digitalisation, artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making in ATM. They will be able to apply the acquired knowledge to practical flight planning and ATM scenarios, propose operational solutions consistent with the European ATM concept, and justify their decisions using appropriate professional terminology in both Czech and English.
