Summary

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to identify the psychological, physiological, and organizational factors affecting human performance in aviation, describe the fundamental principles of human factors and their significance for aviation safety, and explain the causes of human error, as well as the principles of Crew Resource Management (CRM), Just Culture, and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
Students will be able to apply human factors principles to the analysis of aviation occurrences and operational situations, propose measures to mitigate risks arising from human factors, and evaluate the impact of human factors on aviation safety.
Students will be able to independently conduct a human factors analysis of model operational situations, justify professional conclusions based on human factors analysis, take responsibility for decision-making with due regard to safety principles, and evaluate their own decision-making processes and professional development needs.
