Summary

The graduate of the course acquires comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical foundations, technological principles, and industrial applications of modern methods of welding, brazing, and material cutting. They are familiar with a wide range of advanced technologies, such as plasma welding, electron beam welding, laser welding, electroslag welding, ultrasonic welding, diffusion welding, explosion welding, aluminothermic welding, friction welding, as well as various cutting and gouging methods. They understand the physical principles of individual processes, the design of equipment, and the selection of technological parameters. They are able to assess quality control aspects, economic efficiency, and the possibilities of automation and robotization of production processes. The acquired knowledge is applied in comparing and selecting suitable technologies with regard to specific materials, thicknesses, and operating conditions, including demanding applications, for example in the energy sector.
