Language of instruction angličtina, čeština
Code 345-5201
Abbreviation ŘPNSvJE
Course title Quality Management, Regulation and Standards in Welding in Nuclear Power Engineering
Coordinating department Department of Mechanical Technology
Course coordinator prof. Ing. Ivo Hlavatý, Ph.D.

Summary

The course addresses the issues of regulations, standards, and quality requirements in welding. It focuses on the importance of technical standards (ČSN, EN, ISO, PED, ASME Code) and legal regulations that govern welder qualification, welding procedures, weld inspection, and quality management systems in production. The text explains the importance of standardization in ensuring the safety of nuclear power plant structures, the reliability of welded joints, and compliance with technical and legal requirements.
The work includes an overview of the basic standards related to welding, particularly standards for welder qualification tests, welding procedure specifications (WPS, WPQR), weld quality control, and quality management systems in fusion welding. It also describes the importance of documentation, inspection procedures, and non-destructive testing of welds as tools for achieving the required level of quality and ensuring the service life of equipment at nuclear power plants of up to 60 years.
The aim of the work is to clarify the importance of standards and regulations in welding practice and to highlight their essential role in ensuring safety and quality at nuclear power plants.
