Rapid Prototyping

Summary

After completing the course, the student is able to create basic CAD models of products and prepare digital data for additive manufacturing. The student understands the fundamental principles of rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing technologies and is able to apply them in the design and realization of prototypes. The student can use optical scanning to digitize real objects and apply basic reverse engineering methods in the creation or modification of digital models. The student is able to assess the suitability of selected additive manufacturing technologies and materials and to perform a basic evaluation of the quality of manufactured prototypes. The learning outcomes also include the ability to work independently and as part of a team when solving technical tasks related to the design and realization of prototypes using modern digital technologies.
