Subject syllabus

1. Logistics in the field of energy - introduction.
Explanation of the concept of logistics in relation to energy, types of energy used in society and the possibilities and special properties of the supply of individual types of energy, or the issue of disposal and use of waste from energy operations, energy storage accumulation options.

2.-3. Energy policy.
Energy balance of the state, energy law, energy sectors and transported types of energy, energy security, provision of individual types of energy in case of emergency situations of supply outages. Backup energy sources and their specifics. Attendance of the students in the form of an excursion (laboratory) as part of the introduction to the topic.

4. Logistics supply of fossil fuels I - coal.
Coal as a domestic energy source in the Czech Republic. Possibilities of transport by rail (dominant), for short distances special routes (belt transport), shipping. Coal accumulation, its necessity and problems. Energy recovery from waste, especially with regard to facilities for energy recovery of waste (FER. Transport, recovery and storage of solid incineration residues.

5. Fossil fuel supply logistics II-oil.
Petroleum products and their transport and accumulation. Long-distance oil pipelines. Rail and road transport, accumulation of petroleum products and the issue of security against oil spills.

6. Fossil fuel supply logistics III - natural gas.
Long-distance gas pipelines, operation, maintenance and control, national and local networks, CNG and virtual gas pipeline, Maritime transport - LNG.

7. -8. Logistics in the production of petroleum products.
Connection of production plants to oil pipelines, storage of raw materials and products, pipeline, rail road and sea transport of products, stocks of products (state material reserves)

9. Logistics in manufacturing and supply of heat I.
Supply of heat sources of fuel, their treatment before combustion, capture of pollutants, their treatment and disposal (ash storage, etc.)

10. Logistics in manufacturing and supply of heat II.
Heat supply distribution networks, steam and hot water systems, advantages and disadvantages. Remote heat feeders, heat storage, cogeneration and trigeneration.

11. -12. Excursion into practice, reservoirs and energy accumulation in the critical infrastructure of the Czech Republic.
Specifics for individual types of energy, energy storage as a part of the energy system and infrastructure.

13. -14. Alternative energy sources.
Possible types of alternative energy sources, their possibilities in our country, advantages and disadvantages. Direct use of solar, wind and hydropower for the production of electricity and heat, biofuels. Hydrogen and its possible use, advantages and disadvantages.
