1. Introduction of Dynamic stability studies of power systems working in off-grid (isle) mode. Failure modes with potential consequences to network stability, expected response of power system to failure states and fault clearance. Blackout and brownout in power systems.
2. Operation of synchronous machines operating in isle mode. – Ways of torque/power control for multiple generators (speed droop mode, load sharing mode), the speed governors and AVR control systems, block diagram of control systems in Laplace transform.
3. Motor Start Study – the aim of the study, building the model of simulated network, analysis method, presentation of results, output report generation. Problems related with partial motor stalling (brow condition).
4. Load shedding during faults and after fault clearance. Definition of power management system (PMS) for isle networks, typical behavior during and after defined failures.
5. Dynamic Stability Study – Simulation model setting, aim of the study, analysis method and presentation of result values, output report generation, the verification of initial design of the PMS system.
6. Harmonic analysis study – method of calculation acc. to IEC 1000-2-6, sources of disturbance, typical harmonic spectrum, obtaining the input data, simultaneity coefficients for multiple harmonic current/voltage sources according to PNE 33 3430. Voltage characteristics of electricity supplied by public electricity networks acc. to EN 50160.
7. Harmonic analysis study - building up the simulation model, setting up the simulation. Methods of analysis and presentation of output values. Harmonic analysis report completion.
8. Protection device coordination in LV supply systems: – Characteristics of protection devices, main rules for selection, installation and setting up the protective devices (TCC curves). Partial and full selectivity in LV supply systems, ways how to achieve the selectivity.
9. Dimenzování jištění v sítích vn – protection overview in MV networks. Numerical codes of protections according ANSI standard. Tripping characteristics of MV protections. The choice of appropriate device protection types according to ČSN 33 3051.
10. The assessment of ground fault currents in insulated supply systems. – Problems related with ground faults, the corresponding protection device coordination in MV supply systems, way of output report completion (Earth Fault Calculation Report).
11. The design and coordination of protection setting in MV supply systems - TCC curves, setting up and choice of appropriate protection type, protection setting tables (documentation of protection setting for particular relay). The ways of selectivity assemssment.
12. Dimensioning of CT/VT. – dimensioning of voltage transformers, current transformers for various types of protection.
13. FMEA analysis – Failure mode and effect analysis. Its use by design of critical parts of power systems.
14. Reliability and availability of industrial power systems. – Mathematical expressions for reliability, availability, maintainability and maintenance support terms, calculation methods acc to IEEE493/2007.
