Power Semiconductor Systems II

Summary

The topic of this subject extends the previously obtained knowledge of the power electronics based especially on already known basic function principles of rectifiers, voltage converters, inverters, frequency converters and the driving methods of these devices.
This subject is focused to get the cognizance in details of modern power switching devices including application rules of this devices, and it explores the knowledge of power semiconductor systems. The learning process extends the general orientation in the field of analogue electronics and electrical engineering.
Knowledge obtained in this subject offer students good orientation in the branch of power electronics applications, e.g. applications with UPS, welding power sources, AC power regulators and in applications with electrical drives. This subject enables students to explore parts of power semiconductor systems and to apply obtained information within constructing in practice. Knowledge obtained in this subject are a part of a general knowledge of electrotechnical educated expert.
