Summary

Upon successful completion of the course, the student:
– analyses the construction and functional requirements of power electronic converters,
– selects appropriate semiconductor devices, structural elements, and other converter components,
– designs a basic construction of a power electronic converter with regard to its electrical, thermal, and mechanical parameters,
– assesses the differences between industrial and special-purpose converter designs,
– evaluates the suitability of the proposed construction for a specific application.
