Lectures:
Summary of basic knowledge from digital and microprocessor technology, characteristics of control systems with single-chip microcomputers.
Arithmetic of fixed-point numbers, arithmetic of floating-point numbers, advantages of use.
CACHE memories, pipelining of instructions, pipelining of processes. Differences between microprocessor and signal processor architectures. Signal processor instruction set, quirks and differences, specialized signal processor instructions.
Overview of the current offer of signal processors and signal microcontrollers (DSC) from various manufacturers. Differences from regular MCUs.
DSC Texas Instrument C2000 series, generation overview, architecture, uses.
TMS320F28379D signal microcontroller, basic features, internal architecture, HW calculation accelerators, working with floating and fixed decimal numbers.
TMS320F28379D memory space organization, interrupt system, timing subsystem, multiprocessor communication.
PWM modulator TMS320F28379D, characteristics and variability, examples of use for different topologies of power systems.
TMS320F28379D analog subsystem, D/A converters, A/D converters, analog comparators. Conversion initiation and sampling control.
Digital signal filtering and its implementation in signal processors.
Fast Fourier transformation, implementation and use of HW resources of DSC using library functions.

Labs:
Design of simple programs for system with TMS320F28379D.
Design a program using interrupts from a timer.
Compilation of a program for generating a complex analog signal.
Test #1
Generating a PWM signal after controlling selected topologies of DC converters.
Programming of FIR and IIR type digital filters, comparison with the library version of the filter, analysis of the time required for the calculation. Measuring filter characteristics.
Using the Fourier transform for real-time signal analysis and the inverse Fourier transform to generate signals.

Development software provided in English version.

Project:
Independent development of a project on the topic of digitized signal processing using digital filters, FFT and other algorithms for signal processing.
