Subject syllabus

1. 1D signal and its waveform in time. Signal classification - deterministic x stochastic; stationary x nonstationary. Basic signal transformations.
2. Signal spectrum - Fourier series, Fourier transform.
3. Signal spectrum - FFT, spectrogram.
4. Analog to digital signal conversion; Sampling, quantization, coding. Signal sampling; Aliasing; Leakage. Aliasing and its effect on the sound signal.
5. Signal filtering. Filters.
6. Convolution of 2 signals. Filtering as convolution.
7. 2D signals and their shape in space (image; surf). Computer image representation, 3D RGB matrix. RGB, CMY (K), YCbCr. Aliasing and its expression in the image; Moire.
8. Spectrum of 2D signal (image) - FFT, DCT. 2D signal filtering. Edge detectors.
9. Modulation by analog signals (AM, FM, PM) - modulation principle, modulation parameters, spectrum of modulated signal.
10. Pulse modulation (PAM, PWM, PPM) - the principle of modulation and its use. Signal sampling; sampling theorem.
11. Pulse code modulation PCM.
12. Modulation by digital signals (keying - ASK, FSK, PSK). Multisymbol modulations (QPSK, QAM).
13. Multi-carrier modulations (OFDM, CP-OFDM, UF-OFDM, SC-QAM / O-QAM ....)

The numbering only separates the different thematic blocks and does not have to correspond with the topics discussed in the individual weeks of the semester.
