AI Engineering

Language of instruction angličtina, čeština
Code 450-2110
Abbreviation AIINZ
Course title AI Engineering
Coordinating department Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering
Course coordinator prof. Ing. Radek Martinek, Ph.D.

Summary

The objective of the course is to equip students with technical competencies for effective use of artificial intelligence in modern industrial engineering. Students will gain practical skills in AI-assisted development (prompt engineering, context engineering, vibe-coding), programming for industrial automation (Python, Bash), and working with modern development tools (Linux, git, Docker). A key competency is the ability to bridge the gap between industrial system design and implementation – from rapid prototyping (vibe-coding) through industrial data analysis to application deployment on cloud and edge devices using DevOps principles and containerization. Students will also gain practical experience with PLC programming, industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT), and robotics fundamentals with AI integration.
