Public Healthcare System and Biotelemetry

Summary

Studnets become acquainted with the basics and content of public health care. They will become more familiar with the health system, its structure and management processes at multiple levels. The course is focused on the support of provided healthcare IT / ICT technologies. Students will be familiar with the basic concepts, theories and determinants of health and the position of public health in the context of Czech health policy, will be able to compare the development of health status of the Czech population with other countries and in the historical context, will be able to recognize and understand basic economic problems in health care, focus and main health programs of the WHO and their implementation within the Czech Republic will be familiar with health systems and relationships within the system including inputs and outputs, both in the Czech Republic and abroad, will be able to determine the indicators and parameters of the quality of health care, will know the basic principles and components of community care and health care for specific population groups. Last but not least, they will be familiar with the principles of health insurance, especially in Europe, and with complex issues of health care financing and investment. Part of the course is also an introduction to the issue of telemetry of biological signals and general application of telemetry in the field of medicine.
